RE: SSL error code 4163 (and also 4165) ~Umberto Nongeroson 7.Jan.03 01:52 AM a Web browser Domino Server 6.0Windows 2000
Is the server displaying the "Network IO Error" message after the user has connected to the server over SSL, viewed the database successfully, and then closed the connection in the browser or terminated the browser? Some web browsers don't send an SSL close alert before terminating the TCP connection, which is a violation of the spec and to all appearances, looks like a truncation attack on the connection. When this occurs, we log that error, because even though it's probably just a broken web browser, it _might_ be someone trying to attack the server.
